Watching the news lately has been scary enough for me to know that I won't be letting Gracie Trick-or-Treat by herself ever.  She may think she is trick-or-treating by herself when she gets older, but I will dress-up and go undercover to follow her little butt ...

A Parents' Guide to Coughs

No mom enjoys hearing a child cough, even though pediatricians often remind parents that coughing is actually a good thing — it’s the body’s way of keeping the lungs clear and preventing pneumonia. But that doesn’t make the problem any easier for you or your child, especially when your little one can’t get a good night’s sleep because of a nagging cough.

The first question you need to ask yourself is, “How sick is my child?” says Benaroch. For instance, sucking in the ribs with every ...

Getting Started

One of my favorite sayings is "I may be fat, but you're ugly and I can diet".

Haha.  I chuckle even now.

(I know all the other phat mamas out there are also getting a little chuckle outta that one.)

I wasn't chuckling though when I had to start this project.

I have always wanted to join a fantastic gym, workout and eat good, and feel great about myself.  My dream, and to some this may sound dumb, but some of you will understand, is to be able ...

Pittsburgh International Children's Theatre

A Review of Duck For President, Fancy Nancy and other Story Books.

Growing up I wasn't introduced to the theatre until I was in my early teens.  My heart seized the first time I heard a musical number live.  Miss Saigon, NYC , blizzard of 1993.    The intensity of the music, the incredible voices of the performers, the stories.  Sigh.  Musical theatre is such a beautiful experience.

This past weekend the Pittsburgh International Children's Theatre invited my girls and I to enjoy the Musical Performance: Duck For President , Fancy Nancy and other stories.
