HAPPY PASSOVER!

Crafts, shows and more to celebrate!

April 18, 2011

Passover celebrates the release of the Jews from slavery in Egypt. Each year families gather to tell the story of Passover. My kids delight in the story and love to recount the plagues each year. During the Seder you can be sure to see my kids running around the house acting like the frogs! I am always on the look out for ideas and crafts to keep Passover fun and entertaining for the kids! Lucky for me I found Sara, better known as Creative Jewish Mom and she has graciously offered to share some of her great Passover crafts with me on her blog Creative Jewish Mom! Please feel free to click the link to find Passover crafts!

Passover Matzah Cover Craft

Matzah Cover

Supplies

Felt or Fabric

Needle and Thread

Glitter Glue

Take two pieces of fabric or felt and sew together on three sides, leaving the fourth open, creating an envelope or pocket

Turn inside out, so seems are on the inside of the pocket

Use glitter glue to write "Matzah" in English (or Hebrew). You can also draw and cut out Passover pictures and glue them on the Matzah cover as well.

During the Passover meal (the seder) hide the middle matzah in the pocket. The seder cannot conclude until the child finds the matzah and returns to the one leading the seder.
