PUDDING PAINTING!

A Perfect Tactile Toddler Experience!

By Debby P April 18, 2011

Many parents are hesitant to let their children explore in ways that are a bit, "messy."  Understandably!  But what fun IT IS  when you let those little ones loose!  I was recently browsing the Kinderworks Childcare and Learning Center website and I saw several pictures of the children involved in finger painting with pudding!  As a former educator myself I am so please to see this!  Finger painting gives children a tactile sensory experience and it helps them to exhibit  and explore their natural tendencies at young ages.

Children LOVE to smear and this activity is PERFECT for it !

It doesn't matter the end result just let them go to it !

There are so many worries these days about the toxicity of crafting paint etc that often times it's just plain easier to get out the chocolate or vanilla pudding and let them go to town!   I was so pleased to see this happening at Kinderworks Childcare Center and as always so happy to partner with such a beautiful facility!

Chocolate Finger Painting:

Dump out a few spoonfuls of pudding directly onto a clean surface.

You select the brand and flavor according to your family's needs.

Let your child smear and swirl until his heart is content and don't worry about the mess!

This is important for them!

Let them draw shapes, letters or simply just SMEAR!

Once they are finished take a white piece of large construction paper and gently press it onto the surface of the painting to create a " print" impression of your little Van Gogh's creation!
