Why Choose This School? Debby's Take.

I looked high and low for a dance studio for my youngest, now 4, to attend. I had had several experiences with some local area dance studios with my eldest years ago and to be quite honest, I was never impressed. I was actually pulled aside in one studio when my Emma decided that she would rather be break dancing than doing tap of ballet.

When Peyton began asking to " do ballet." I was kind of at a loss and internally rolled my eyes.

Where in the world was I going to find a dance class that had what I WAS LOOKING FOR as a parent? I didn't want her in recitals - I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars for costumes. I didn't HAVE THAT MONEY. I didn't want my baby to be doing the SAME dance each week… in prep for a recital she might NEVER feel comfortable enough to participate in at her young age. I wanted her TO LEARN how to dance. Simply put.

I felt like it wasn't out there. So I inquired with other moms as to dance schools they sent their little ones too. Each time I got pretty much the same answer. What I never really got along with that answer was a sense of excitement or a true " YOU HAVE TO GO SEE THIS SCHOOL." So I put it off for another year! Once I started Mac Kid I knew that it would allow me the chance to branch into some new territories and perhaps even a dance school would appear. As the year went on my Peyton continued to dance in our kitchen and had even taken to singing like the Liza Minelli she thought she was. All the while her proud momma yelling BRAVO ! BRAVISIMO! from her computer desk!

While watching a parade in Findlay Township a couple of  summers ago,  I saw a Dance Troupe full of tiny little girls behind a group denoted as " Karen Prunzik's Broadway Dance Studio."

Um? Say huh? Who are you and where are you located? I zeroed in and I grabbed someone in the procession!

She turned out to be a MAC KID READER! She gave me a flier and I just knew that this place might be THE ONE. It was MEANT TO BE.

It was not only a dance school but a dance school that later offered a variety of classes that would prep a true performer in the making! Vocal classes, acting, dancing , singing, tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop. FOR EVERYONE. DO YOU KNOW WHAT WAS BIG AND IN BOLD ON THE FLIER.

WE ARE A NO RECITAL SCHOOL.

BINGO!

Within a few weeks I had contacted the school to take a looksie and Peyton was in her GLORY at the thought of ballet and tap. I visited Karen Prunzik's Broadway Dance Studio and had a chance to check it all out as well as sit down with her to talk a bit. Karen herself is a former BROADWAY STAR. Her studio not only offers students the chance to explore various dance classes to find their niche, but offers serious performers the opportunity to excel in an environment no unlike a true Broadway dance company. Karen wants her students to recognize the expectations of such a career and offers them opportunities to prep for such things with her procedures and protocols! However the studio is for students of all levels , interests and abilities.  ANYONE can walk in the door and sign on. All classes are also taught by a Broadway professional or a college graduate with a pedagogy degree.

I am in my glory.

Peyton is in her glory!

We are all thrilled.

This is a don't miss. Check it out.
