Teacher appreciation week is upcoming and as a former teacher I must tell you how important this week is. While you should be offering daily support, appreciation and cheers for those educators who deserve such accolades it is a SUPER DUPER special week that we totally enjoy revelling in. Who DOESN'T like to be recognized for their hard work?
This is the week begin thinking about how to recognize your children's teacher for all that he or she have given to the classroom. We have tons of great ideas in an article this publication but I want to tell you straight from the heart that some of the BEST GIFTS I ever received, were words. I can tell you verbatim the KIND and SUPPORTIVE notes I received through the years. They carried me when days were tough and school semesters long.
Taking the time to tell a teacher the impact he or she is having on your child-- is worth more than any gift card you can offer them. Put it in a note, stop them in the hall, tell the principal. Sincerely drive home the appreciation you have for them.
I am so excited this year to have two teachers to shower with appreciation. Teachers that seem custom fit for my children. I can't wait to write those notes myself.
The buck doesn't stop when you hit middle school or high school either. Is there a special teacher that you've noted? Recognize them then send a note to the principal. Tattle on that teacher-- for being AWESOME.
Have a teacher YOU remember making an impact on your life? FIND THEM. Let them know. I found several teachers this past year that I YEARNED to thank and finally had the opportunity to! It was an amazing feeling! So search that teacher out!
