Help 2 Year Old John Blosser Jr. - -BLOOD DRIVE

Macaroni Cares

May 30, 2012
Two-year-old John Blosser, Jr., affectionately called Tuddy, was diagnosed with stage 4 neuoblastoma on May 1, 2012, and began chemotherapy right away at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Tuddy has already received blood
products twice since being diagnosed and will more than likely need to receive them again in the future. After finishing chemotherapy, he will receive a bone marrow (stem cell) transplant but doctors will use his own bone marrow to
replenish what he will need.

John is the son of John Sr., and Vicky Blosser of McKeesport, and before he was diagnosed he loved to play with his two older sisters, Savannah, 6, and Alexis, 5. John Sr. works for Tedesco Construction and Vicki left her job as psychiatric technician at Forbes Regional Hospital in order to stay home and care for her son. Tuddy is a very loving little boy who is very attached to his family and shares a special bond with everyone around him. The family is thankful for their support structure of family and friends which keeps them strong.

This blood drive is scheduled help to replenish the community blood supply with blood products that Tuddy will need in order to feel better during his treatments. The drive also offers the opportunity to join the national marrow donor registry. Joining is easy – simply complete additional paperwork and submit a sample mouth swab. Please donate blood in honor of Tuddy!
