So Much More than Just Pounds

What does a 10 pound sack of flour and a 12 inch ribbon have in common?  ME!!  It was about 6 weeks ago when I started a 90 Day Health Challenge.  I was a big meal skipper and often felt tired and run down.  I had about 10 more pounds to lose but had no motivation for doing it.  Debby (Mac Kid Editor extraordinaire) had been keeping her eye on several close friends that had been using Body by Vi shakes to get healthy and lose weight.   We decided, as a group, we would give it a try!  So far to date, we’ve dropped an extraordinary amount of weight. 

I have lost 10 pounds (I’m now at my goal weight) and I’ve lost 12 inches.  I’m telling you, compared to these numbers I’ve been seeing from other people, this is nothin’!  That is at least what I thought until I picked up this 10 pounds sack of flour in Sam’s Club.  10 pounds is so much more than I thought!  Another trick I learned is to look at inches instead of pounds.  I’ve lost 12 inches BUT it doesn’t sound like that much until I used an ordinary piece of ribbon and cut it. This represents inches of fat off of my body!  That is impressive when you see it all measured out!!! 

The most important thing I’ve gained my losing 10 pounds is more self-confidence.  I found myself shying away from pictures with my kids.  I would always want to be behind the camera and not in front of it but now, I don’t give it a second thought!  I jump right in as if I was a picture crasher and I want to capture every memory and I’m so glad that I feel comfortable enough to be more than just behind the scenes!  It's more than just weight... more than pounds and inches... but it's about setting a goal and reaching them and about being healthy WITH and FOR my family!
