Sensory /Art  Bags
Everyone loves sensory these days.  I don’t know how we all survived without such things but create the following at your next play date or just in your home-- you’ll probably get applause.  With some supervision plastic bags can make for great sensory time & art time.  This is one of our very favorite indoor activities and it's one that you can get miles out of!  Always supervise play however in the event that the bag is punctured. Aloe Vera gel is used in these bags so that part won’t harm the child if they break but still keep a close watch for little pieces and a big mess.

Keep Cool
Boo Boo Bags

Boo Boo Ziplocs Ice Packs For Injuries

There are a few ways this can be done but we found the one with the least ingredients and measuring! We’re smart like that!

DIY Ice Pack Recipe 1.    Select Ziploc bag size of choice (double or triple bag to protect against leaks).... 2.    Get a big bottle of cheap dish soap.... 3.    Load up the Ziploc about 1/2 – 3/4 full. Close the bag a couple of times squishing out the air each time. Freeze.

Lunch Chillin'and Lunch Box Packs

Sandwich Bags make you cool.  They can make all things better as well as save your lunch from salmonella, or at least try!

DIY Lunch Box Pack You threw it away? That costly ice pack can be replaced easily with our Chillin at Lunch Pack. No more spills and leaks.  Simply wet your sponge, freeze it and once it begins to thaw, the sponge will absorb the water!! GENIUS!

  No more spills and leaks.

 Plastic Grocery Bags

LARGE plastic bags are also great for cleanup but we bet you didn’t think of this one.

Fall is coming and that means big leaf cleanup.
Grab a hula hoop, a huge contractor plastic bag, some duct tape and you have a lovely leaf clean up method! Simply tape the hula hoop to the bag so that you have a large opening.  Hula hoop too big?  Cut it and duct tape it smaller like I did!  Then it's a perfect fit!

Fusing Plastic For Fido- Dog Leash

Fusing sounds uber artistic and if this is a patch you want to earn then by all means.  It’s really fairly simply , but requires some time. Plastic grocery bags can easily be melted together on low heat with the use of an iron and parchment paper.  The bags can then be formed into all kinds of usable, durable items.   We’ve seen bags, totes and even tents made out of these but today-- HOLD THE APPLAUSE we made a LEASH!

Don't want to mess with fusing?  Simple GLUE (white glue) the bottoms of each of your bags together.  It works just as well!  This is a higher level project but if Debby can pull it off-- you can too!

We found our inspiration for all of these sites for the leash.
