Phat N@ UPDATE

Where've We Been?

February 21, 2011

Don't you badger us!  :)   We're here.  We've been working out doing our duty!

For those of you who are new and just landing here on Phat n@-- this is Christine and Debby's journal to a healthier lifestyle.  Phat, because we're cool.  N@-- you know this one, right?  PITTSBURGH!

We use the awesome gym and fitness center at La Fitness Robinson ( Settler's Ridge)  and we tell you all about it as well as our other lifestyle successes and bumps in the road!   For those of you who battle the bulge with us-- we're real, we're raw and we're funny.  We don't LOVE working out.  We'd much rather do other things.  But we understand the necessity of it and are committed to changing our lives for the better... starting with exercising.

This past few weeks have been hectic.  The biggest battle for a healthier lifestyle is commitment to yourself. Who has time for THAT??   Christine and I have been going to our awesome LA FITNESS Trainer Leigh whenever we can fit it in between sick/ and or screaming children.  One of our four total children is always sick!  I think we should just hire our own Pediatrician.

However, still, we've made many sessions  with our trainer and have felt the burn and regret afterwards.  ( it always feels okay the next, next day)

Leigh's workouts are always intense but insanely, workouts that YOU could do at home!  I took my husband with me once and I believe he was expecting to do meat head weightlifting  and grunts.  We instead used a ball, some free weights and a step.  I HATE that step.

He could barely do it and was SO impressed that these exercises were yielding a better workout than the  so called workout he usually does.   Leigh is great and so are the trainers at LA Fitness. She often answers readers question here in our publication so watch for her column.

One of the biggest battles for me, besides commitment is eating.  I'm one of those fat people.  That doesn't really eat.  I'm a workaholic.  I work through lunch, live on coke and coffee and basically starve my fat body.

Leigh has told me from day one that I need to be EATING to lose weight.  Two weeks ago -- I began eating.  Portioned meals, limited 1200 calorie per day diet.  I have already lost a significant amount of weight.  Leigh, was RIGHT.  Go figure ~:)

Christine has also begun the next step of commitment-- healthier eating.  So expect some exciting things from us soon!

We thank LA FITNESS for the kick start and now combined we plan to take this commitment to the next level!  If you are interested in joining us at LA FITNESS they are offering another great promo for Mac Kid Readers.   $25 to join and $29.95 a month- no long term commitments.

Contact Luigi Bruini to set up a tour and investigate this place~  We LOVE it and we'd LOVE to meet you!  We most enjoy it when readers come up to us when we're sweaty, ready to cry and mad at the world for being at the gym instead of at  home eating mini chocolate donuts. ( Debby, not C)

Now.  I wonder what the next commitment will be.  Let's hope it involves shopping.

xoxo - d
