Children's Museum Launches Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive

24th Annual Pittsburgh Sweater Drive Returns November 13 to December 15

December 2, 2023

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s 24th annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive begins today and will run through December 15.

Donors are invited to drop off new or gently-used adult and child-sized sweaters in collection bins outside the Children’s Museum’s front entrance every day from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Donations can be made by driving up to the museum’s front circle without paying for parking.

The annual event has helped to provide over 44,000 sweaters—including over 1,000 sweaters last year—to families and children across the tri-state area for the last 24 years.

“Fred and Joanne Rogers taught all of us the importance of sharing and giving, and that legacy continues to live on today,” said Jane Werner, Executive Director of Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. “We are proud to continue this annual tradition as we carry on their mission of spreading kindness and helping those in need.”

The Children’s Museum is partnering once again in this effort with the Oaklander Hotel, located in the heart of Oakland, as an additional sweater donation site. Donors can drop off new or gently-used sweaters at the Oaklander’s 24-hour drive-through collection bin at the valet station in the hotel’s driveway on Bigelow Boulevard.

Sweaters can also be donated at Yoga Six South Hills, along with multiple Club Pilates and Stretch Lab locations across the region. To receive sweaters, please contact the museum at hi@pittsburghkids.org.
