Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh Partners with Cayuga Centers

Help Build a Family Resilience Rainbow in Recognition of National Child Abuse Awareness Month

April 19, 2022

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh has partnered with Cayuga Centers’ Allegheny County Office to offer art activities that recognize the importance of supporting children in order to produce thriving families. The programs take place during National Child Abuse Prevention Month, which recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Representatives from Cayuga Centers will work with museum visitors to create love letters starting with prompts such as “I feel loved when….,” “I feel safe when....,”, and “My family shows love by....,”. The Love Letters will be collected and formed into a Family Resilience Rainbow to be displayed in the Children’s Museum in May.

Visitors can also design their own paper pinwheels. The pinwheels can be featured on Cayuga’s website at cayugacenters.org/Pittsburgh. Share your pinwheel on social media using #ThrivingFamiliesPGH to have it featured on the website, cayugacenters.org/Pittsburgh.

From Wednesday, April 20 – Saturday, April 23, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm daily, this activity is free with museum admission. The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is located at 10 Children’s Way, Pittsburgh PA 15212.
