November 16, 2022

County Executive Rich Fitzgerald today announced that the county’s holiday drive-in laser show is back for a third year, with the first 45-minute light show being held on December 9, 2022. Tickets for the North Park event go on sale tomorrow, Thursday, November 17, at noon. The synchronized light show allows families to enjoy the show, and the holiday music, right from their own vehicle.

“There are so many holiday traditions in our community that families embrace each year, and we’re thrilled to see so many residents embrace the drive-in laser show,” said Fitzgerald. “We’ve already heard from families who already have a visit to the laser show on their calendar for the 2022 Holiday Season.”

The drive-in laser show begins on Friday, December 9 and runs through Thursday, December 22. Held in the county’s North Park Swimming Pool Parking Lot on South Ridge Drive, visitors can choose from three session times Sunday through Thursday (6 PM, 7:30 PM and 9 PM), or four weekend session times on Friday and Saturday (6 PM, 7:30 PM, 9 PM and 10:30 PM). Each session accommodates 180 cars. Tickets are $20 per vehicle Sunday through Thursday and $25 per vehicle for Friday and Saturday shows.

Space is limited and tickets can sell out. Attendees are urged to arrive 30-45 minutes before their time slot. When arriving, attendees will need to show the QR code provided at the time of purchase – which can be shown on a smart phone or may be printed and brought to the event. Vehicles will be directed from the entrance and will be directed to tune in 87.9 FM on their radio to hear the show. No commercial vehicles, including school buses, minibuses, limos, etc. are allowed at the event. While there will not be any concessions available on site, visitors are welcome to bring snacks to enjoy in or at their vehicle.

The event will again benefit the Kane Foundation. In 2021, nearly 9,700 vehicles and an estimated 38,000 attendees enjoyed the drive-in laser show. Over $63,000 was raised for the Kane Foundation. Over the life of the event, over $133,000 has been raised to benefit the organization which raises funds to help enhance the quality of life for residents at the Kane Community Living Centers and their families. One hundred percent of all donations are devoted to gifts and enhancements for the Kane Centers and residents.
