I saw this awesome craft in another Macaroni Kid newsletter and decided to try it out and put my own spin on it!  Thanks Jody Lynn Chin for the inspiration!  I’ve listed her directions below and then my take on this craft. Both are sure to delight your kids and you end up with a really tasty and beautiful project at the end. 

Valentines Day Marshmallows:

This is a pretty easy little idea to do for Valentines or any day that matter.

What you need:

§  Marshmallows ( the big ones ...

This particular recipe calls for a perfect blend in spices and hearty ingredients. You can make a little or a lot but I can't guarantee there will be leftovers.

Ingredients:

1 onion

1 red pepper

1/2cup cilantro

1tsp cumin

1tsp cayenne pepper

1tbsp chile powder (Menudo Spice Mix works great)

1tbsp garlic powder

1tbsp sea salt (regular table salt is fine)

1tbsp pepper

32oz Chicken broth

14oz Enchilada Sauce

4oz Green Chilis

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (season w/salt & pepper before placing in pot)

Among the changes to the “Kean Idol” Talent Contest is a new name, “Kean Quest Talent Search,” a new logo and a greater focus on the vocal competition. Presented by St. Barnabas Charities “Kean Quest Talent Search” will take to the stage of the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road, Jan. 29 through March 30, 2012.
