Hi Kids and Parents,
My name is Alex. I’m 10 years old and I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh. Every year, I go to summer camp in June, July and August and I wanted to tell you about the best camp in the Pittsburgh area – it’s called Camp "R"!
It’s a sleep-away camp in the Laurel Mountains - only an hour and a half away from Pittsburgh. Now, I love to swim, play basketball and softball, canoe and kayak, have campfires, and explore just about anything. My parents didn’t think I could handle being away from TV and video games for a whole week, but I loved it!!
CAMP "R" was BETTER than I imagined!!! We climbed on boulders, went to the lake, hiked, played capture the flag in the woods, did volleyball and archery, relay races, had campfires and cookouts, and we even had a dance!!
I thought there would be more boys than girls at Camp "R", but I was wrong...it was split evenly - which actually made it more fun. The kids were ages 7 to 14!
Camp “R” is so much fun that I begged my parents to let me go for two weeks last summer…AND THEY LET ME!!!! Even all of the counselors went to CAMP "R" when they were kids, so you know it’s gotta be good.
