The ONE person that I neglect to LOVE and shower with attention? ME.
Last week I saw a post on Broadway Dance Studio's Facebook about their adult tap class.
Immediately I was fixated.
The post said something about -- how much FUN they were having.
I've always WANTED to learn to tap -- I said to myself.
Then I got mad.
I'm so TIRED of not having fun.
i'm SO tired of putting everyone first.
Yes. I am selfish.
I AM SO TIRED of going to bed exhausted --- but having done nothing for myself.
I am the type of person who has to BUY myself time.
It's pathetic-- but it is what it is.
So I bought myself some 'FOR ME.'
My sister and I joined my absolute favorite DANCE STUDIO of all time-- Prunzik's Broadway Dance Studio this week. For adult tap dancing. 10 + women of ALL AGES and ALL SHAPES and ALL PERSONALITIES. Tappin on the floor as if they were Gene Kelly. It was FANTASTIC.
Do we have skills?
No-- at least I don't. I've not tapped a day in my life. Other than my kitchen.
Did I feel out of my element. Sure thing.
But I'm a trooper. I picked some stuff up-- even 4 weeks later than the rest of the "girls!"
You know what kept me going?
MY AMAZING teacher Karen Prunzik. She teaches my 5 year old! I KNEW I was blessed to have her as my child's teacher but What A BLESSING to have her first hand to teach me something FUN and something she is AMAZING at. It's like watching art and music all in one. Her tapping feet are phenomenal and it rouses such an incredible appreciation for dancers.

Am I performing on Broadway. Sure, maybe someday. If there's a street in Pittsburgh with that name. But otherwise it's something FUN that I did. FOR . ME.
