Following in Daddy's Footprint

Looking for a tug-at-the-heartstrings-and-easy-to-do-craft?????

Well, you found it!

This is super easy and fun to do!

All you need is some paint and paper and a frame!

We used 12x12 scrapbooking paper.  Choose something light or white is great as well.

Then find some shoes with tread that covers the shoe.  That sounds like a dumb thing to say but trust me...you don't have as many as you may think!

Lightly paint the bottom of the shoe (think stamp not paint), then press it onto the paper.  Keep your paper still and slide your hand underneath to make sure you get by the toes and heal.

Let it dry.

Then layer the kids' shoes starting with the largest right on top.

Embellish as you would like...pop it in a frame and you are good to go!  We chose to say, "Following in Daddy's Footsteps," "Walk with Me, Dad," "Father's Day 2012," and "Just Me and My Dad."  If you are a scrapbooker you probably have some cute things around to embellish.  Maybe something reflecting their favorite things to do together like fishing or golfing.

Tip alert!  Start with the largest shoe and the lightest color.  Then layer with darker colors as you go.  It will be much easier to see that way.
