Magic Jelly Bean Growing

A New Tradition

March 27, 2013
Continue the magic nonsense of Easter that we all love and enjoy! Let your kiddos plant a magic jelly bean.   They can do this outside, weather dependent or inside in individual planters.

When they are not looking the jelly bean fairy leaves his meeting with the Easter Bunny, Santa, The Tooth Fairy and the likes and sneaks to stick a lollipop into the planter or outside where the jelly bean was planted.  Ridiculous, we know.  But one of the more simple ideas you'll find!  Editor Chris has been doing it for years with her kiddos to many screams of delight!  Now it's your turn to try if you're so inclined!

Supplies:

jelly beans
(some have even planted crushed Oreo etc)

potting soil  (not pictured)

planter

lollipop

How To:

Have your kiddos decorate their own planter if you so choose.  Undecorated planters work too!

The children plant one special jelly bean in their planter ( or outside weather permitting)

Easter morning the children wake up to find that a lollipop has sprouted!

( I actually watered my potting soil and then froze it when the kids weren't looking.  It made it easier for my heavier lollipops to stand up in!)
