We had a FABULOUS time when we attended a recent Painting with a Twist kid’s painting class. In our group, we had ages from 6-9 and every one of them had a blast!! When we arrived, they were so excited to put on their aprons and look at all the lovely art work on the wall. Our group eyed up the finished product they had displayed and danced to a couple of tunes they had on playing! It’s such a nice and relaxed atmosphere that they felt right at home.
The artist that taught our class has been an art teacher for years and knew exactly how to explain to the children what to do. The first brush of the paint and their eyes literally lit up!!! A quick look around the room and I could see that everyone was progressing at very different levels and some looked exactly like the example and others added their own flair. There were no precise rules and fun was the name of the game.
As we waited for our canvases to dry, the instructor lead several fun games including a dance game with prizes! How fun is that??!! There was also plenty of time to eat a snack and grab a drink and have some fun with the new friends.
I was a little concerned that my six year old daughter would be too young to be able to keep up but as soon as I backed off and let her do it herself, she kept up perfectly and ended up with an amazing result that she LOVES and is very proud of.
All of the kids had a great time and have been asking to go back ASAP. Their August schedule is posted and I know the spots do fill up quickly so make sure you save your spot! This is a great way to spend the afternoon with your kids or an evening out with friends!
