About The Publisher: Emily Papa

Hi again! I'm Emily, and I'm the new publisher for MacKID Pittsburgh West AKA MacKID Robinson. I am also the publisher for MacKID South Hills.

Local mama of 2, we live right off the Southpointe exit on 79 which puts us smack in the middle of the South Hills and Pittsburgh West. 

My hometown growing up was Bethel Park, making me a South Hills girl at heart; but I also spent a lot of my youth in the cities encompassed by Pittsburgh West. When my parents got divorced, my dad moved to Coraopolis; then later Sewickley where he has lived for the past 25 years. We would spend many weekends with him exploring fun things to do as a family in those areas. When I was in high school, I moved in with him for a few years and went to QV and spent many days walking the streets of Sewickley Village. So, when picking up the Pittsburgh West territory was presented to me, I actually thought it would be a great fit and I'm super pumped to be here!

I fell in love with Macaroni KID about 8 years ago when I was searching for local activities to do with my daughter and have been a subscriber ever since! I've always used the Mac KID calendar and looked forward to receiving the weekly newsletter (or 5, I totally subscribed to each Pittsburgh territory) filled with things to do with kids in Pittsburgh, specifically close to where we live! 

The diversity of our city and the programs available to our youth are one of the reasons I love living in Pittsburgh. It always amazes me just HOW MANY things are going on around us that SO MANY people have NO idea about or always find out too late!  

My hopes as your next Macaroni KID publisher mom for Pittsburgh West is to help enrich our local community by connecting YOU with the resources, events for kids and families in the 'Burgh, and providing you with the inside scoop you didn't even know you were looking for yet ;) I want to do for you what the previous Mac KID publishers have done for me and my family. 

While I'm excited to take this on, I know that this parenting thing takes a village and I can't do it all myself. Macaroni KID is truly a publication FOR the community, BY the community. If you are here, chances are you want to be in the know or might already be in the know.
