We found this little doozy on The Blue Basket Blog.
We recreated it using her available images for use and made our own version of a car track t-shirt!
For just a few dollars you can make an incredibly unique gift for Dad that is a two-fer - Fun for the kids and a free massage for Dad!
You can utilize the templates we printed out and showcase in our pictures at The Blue Basket Blog.
All other images are our own images created off of the project she showcased.
Notation:
We used markers instead of fabric paints.
Our research tells us that if you heat the t-shirt in the dryer before wearing it should set the markers well!
You will need:
- t-shirt (white)
- Sharpie marker pack, multicolor
- tape
That's it!
Instructions:
- Print out the template from The Blue Basket
- Turn your shirt to the back side.
- Place some cardboard inside the t-shirt so that your markers don't bleed to the front of the shirt.
- Tape the template pieces together to make one large poster sized image of a track.
- Place the poster inside the shirt so that it now acts as a "tracer" sheet.
- Use your black Sharpie to begin slowly outlining the shapes/ template.
- Take your time and occasionally defuzz your marker. When tracing, "ride the wave of fabric." Meaning… go with the flow. Don't try to force the marker over the little hump of fabric you begin to get when tracing a solid line etc. Go slow, and it will work it's way flat over time.
- Go back and color in the areas you so choose!
- Wrap it up and call it a day. You just made one of our all-time favorite crafts. A Man Massage T-shirt!
