Venture Outdoors is a local non-profit organization working to make it easy for you to get outside. They offer over 500 Public Programs a year including kayaking, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, fly fishing, cross country skiing, and geocaching trips. They have activities for all ages and skill levels, and travel to local, city, county and state parks around the region. Have you seen the yellow kayaks on the rivers of Downtown Pittsburgh? Yep, that's them too! VO owns and operates two social enterprises: Kayak Pittsburgh and Climb Pittsburgh. Kayak Pittsburgh is a kayak rental concession open May through October on the waters of Downtown Pittsburgh, and Climb Pittsburgh is our portable climbing wall service.
They also offer a variety of private Group and Youth Programs. VO can help you get your youth group, employees or scout troop outside in a fun and social setting.
It's hard to imagine, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, they also host several large events each year including the Venture Outdoors Festival and Banff Mountain Film Festival.
