Capture Your Child's Fingerprint Forever With One Of A Kind Jewelry.

July 9, 2013

Everyone knows children are a blessing. There is no more amazing feeling than the weight of your child in your arms, swaddled tight in a hospital blanket. Hearing those first words are music to your ears, the anxious excitement as you follow behind unsteady first steps. The list goes on and on. Regardless of how old they are, every phase of their life seems to be the best one yet. Ok maybe the teenage years make you wonder, but you still look upon this person of yours with awe.

I feel extra blessed to be the mother of my only child. A boy whole lights up my life and gives new meaning to the word love.

As an artist by nature I tend to flit through life trying this and that and looking to make a little magic. One day I got a gift that changed what I do. The gift was a pendant of my son’s fingerprint.

It was pricey but worth every penny to me. I had stopped a moment in time and would be able to cherish it forever. Even when he was not near me he would be near my heart.

I have longed to make sterling silver jewelry for some time and this was my big Ahha! moment. I could share this same special gift with parents and grandparents everywhere. I quickly learned how to make pendants with my own little spin. For just a little more than the cost of the sterling I can make a child’s print into a keepsake for life.

For local folks, I love to meet them so I make the prints myself, but I have been sending kits with the world’s easiest instructions all over the country. When I get it back it takes me about a week to turn it around and make someone’s day. That’s pretty darn cool in my book.

I have also realized how very precious life is, and not everyone gets to keep their child on this earth so I strive to donate as many pendants as I can to the parents of terminally ill children. This in no way can sooth a broken heart but perhaps it will prove to be something to sooth them in later days. I have always believed nothing is worth having if you can’t share and this is the best way I know how right now.

On a much lighter note my customers have grown my ideas with me. Furry children are held dear as well so I have made nose and paw prints. Couples are exchanging prints and brides are getting something more fun than a registry gift with a charm of her and her husband’s prints to start their new journeys. Ideas are awesome…if you have some please share.
