The circus is in town!!! Tonight, we were so privileged to be some of the first in Pittsburgh to see DRAGONS Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus.
My kids look forward to the circus every year! I remember how excited they were the first time they ever set eyes on a clown or watched with delight as the performers seemed to defy gravity! It’s so fabulous to see them even MORE excited each time they return.
If there is any way you can “swing it” (queue funny circus pun), the pre-show is spectacular. The children get to roam the floor, try on costumes, sit on bikes, interact with clowns and shake hands with performers. I have never seen such wide eyes and glowing smiles as when a child comes face to face with a clown!
The kids love trying on the costumes, sitting on the bikes and truly interacting with the clowns! There was a new addition this year of a fun bounce house! It does cost $5 so be prepared with some cash.
The show was truly a treat for all senses. From the smell of popcorn to the flash of lights to feats that shouldn’t be humanly possible your child will be engaged the entire show. There is never a dull moment from the first introduction from the Ring Leader. I seem to always forget how I’m on the edge of my seat the entire show! If you’re sitting around me, I apologize (LOL) because I hold my breath during each intricate move and scream with delight once the amazing move is over!
A new addition that I hadn’t seen before were the acrobats high above the stage in clear spinning balls! Who thinks of this stuff?? Not to give away any surprises but you will be shocked when they finally reveal them in the show!
The clowns are always one of my favorite parts. It allows me a chance to breathe and collect myself and my kids laugh the entire time! It’s the part my son waits for and talks about for days after. They even had a huge tower and a surprising hero to rescue the “Princess”!
The animals are always a huge hit and this year they were outstanding! The horses were so fast and the riders did all of their tricks as if the horses were standing still. The riders were the perfection combination of athlete, acrobat, dancer and perhaps a little crazy to try all of those moves! The dogs were adorable and funny. I can’t believe what all they could get those pups to do! The elephants always amaze and the lions actually gave their trainer kisses!
There really is something for everyone at this show! This is a fabulous family night and you will be creating a wonderful memory with your kids!
