This fun, 3-day camp will teach your child how to play tennis using a format that's designed especially for kids ages 5-12. The coaches will be using the USTA 10-and-under format and equipment that uses:
- Shorter racquets. These racquets are sized for small hands, making them easier to grip and swing.
- Low-compression balls. They don't bounce as high as regular tennis balls, and they don't travel as fast. This makes them easier to hit.
- Smaller courts. Kids can cover the courts and have more success when they play.
This 3-day camp is on:
Wednesday, August 6 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Thursday, August 7 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Friday, August 8 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The camp fee is $65 if you register your child by July 28. After that day, the fee is $75. The camp will be held at the Hopewell Junior High Tennis Courts and will be conducted by two PTR-certified youth tennis coaches, Erin Grow and Duane Hardek.
Who was Andy Brunette?
Andy was a well-known and much-loved tennis coach in the Hopewell Township community. He was the boys' and girls' tennis and bowling coach for Hopewell High School and encouraged youth sports in our area for many years. He passed away unexpectedly in March 2014, and we think there is no better way to honor his memory and his commitment to tennis than by hosting a youth tennis camp!
