About me
Hey there! I am SO excited to be here!!! If we haven't met yet, please let me introduce myself. My name is Emily, and I am a local Pittsburgh mama of 2. I have actually been publishing the MacKID South Hills site for the past year and have been anxiously waiting for the rest of the MacKID Pittsburgh team to show back up after our previous publishers said their goodbye's last year. This site was temporarily run by another local mama who, unfortunately, had to step down shortly after starting due to health issues. When we gained a new publisher in the Pittsburgh - City last month, I was approached about the opportunity to publish for Pittsburgh West.
Born and raised in the South Hills, I spent a lot of time in the Robinson area after my dad moved to Sewickley when I was 10. My family lives right off the Southpointe exit on 79 making us central to both the Pittsburgh West area and the South Hills. So while I'm a South Hills girl at heart, I am pretty familiar with life crossing the highway; not something many South Hills girls do ;) With my 9+ years of being a Macaroni Mama and 1 year as a publisher, I felt really excited about the opportunity to take on Pittsburgh West as a second site and didn't take long to affirm my decision.
Side note, ➡️ Macaroni Kid Pittsburgh West - Robinson is actually the original Macaroni Kid Pittsburgh site; having been in publication for over 12 years. Somewhere along the way, Pittsburgh West got dropped and it was referred to as MacKID Robinson (as we will continue to call it). If you have been a Macaroni Mama (or dad) for as long as I have been, you know that the previous publishers really did justice by the Macaroni KID name. I can only hope to continue in their footsteps; bringing you local family fun and keeping you connected to the family resources in the Pittsburgh West area.
My family currently lives in McMurray and my children are 9 and 5. I've been a stay at home mom for the past couple of years, and working for Macaroni Kid in one short year has already brought so much to my life. I am really excited to see what this next chapter brings us and to be your new Macaroni KID Pittsburgh West - Robinson Publisher!
