1. Triple B Farms

Love flowers and apples? Pick-Your-Own Flowers and Pick-Your-Own Apples at Triple B Farms. Enjoy an early morning or afternoon in flower fields or those lovely apple groves. Pick through all different varieties of flowers and get a large container for only $25 dollars! Pick a variety of assortment of your favorite apples!

2.  Sewickley Story Walk

Sewickley Public Library’s Story Walk is a great way to enjoy the fresh air while hearing a wonderful story, “I Got the School Spirit” by Connie Schofield-Morrison on September 27th. As you travel down the path, children’s pictures from the book will be placed along for the enjoyment of the children and their caregivers! Up until October 15th, there will be different stories that are brought to life as you enjoy your nature walk.

3.  National Taco Day

National Taco Day is upon us on Wednesday, October 4th, and I don’t know about you, but tacos are my absolute favorite! Tacos are so fast and easy, but sometimes messy, unfortunately. There are so many great recipes for everyone to try! You can create your own original hard-shell or soft-shell tacos, you can create a Taco in a Bag, and you can even make your own Fish Tacos! Not wanting to cook for this national day don’t worry, go to Plaza Azteca (on Monday) so kids that are 12 and under can eat FREE while adults get to enjoy a nice $2 domestic draft beer! Also, try out some of the most popular taco restaurants near you! Doce Taqueria is known as one of Pittsburgh's taco places! Have the chance to eat at the restaurant or order online and take it to go

4. Spooky paintings

Oh, how I love the spooky season and all of those fun crafts! At Green Tree Public Library, you can create your own spooky painting! Enjoy a fun night by using a neon black light to spark your imagination. This program is for ages 11 to 17 ONLY and it does require registration. To add to the excitement of this unique craft, the library asks those attending to wear white or those fabulous neon clothes to go along with the electric painting that you will be creating. For more spooky fall or Halloween crafts to try out, take a look at our Fall Craft Guide.

5. Earth Care

Take the time and connect with yourself and the Earth. Earth Care, is for kids ages 14+  who want that pause and relaxation to enjoy the world we are a part of and responsible to help take care of. Within these hours, there will be a short relaxation practice, nature-based practice, and the ability to explore creative expression with colors, forms, and materials that are from nature.
