1. Fall Fests
Seeing all of the leaves changing calls to explore all those festive Fall Fests that are happening around you! Enjoy seeing huge pumpkins, taking home your own pumpkins, hay rides, food trucks, face painting, apple picking, fall crafts, and so much more! - Triple B Farms is hosting its Fall Family Fun which includes apple picking, pumpkin picking, hayrides, and more.
- Gather at Fair Haven Farms for a fall festival filled with corn mazes, pumpkin patches, a food shack, a hayloft shop, and a family fun center!
- Renshaw Farms Pumpkin Fest is almost here! Admission includes fun activities like corn pits, corn mazes, a spooky Square Pumpkin storybook in the corn maze, and so much more! Enjoy family crafts and photo booths!
- Scare at the Fair is one of the area’s best-haunted attractions. 11 years in the making of scaring your pants off of your friends, neighbors, and family members. The West Alexandar Scare at the Fair has added 2 new buildings and they have made even more improvements for your enjoyment. Enjoy haunted horse and event ghost hunts that have their very own location. This event is recommended that children under the age of 8 do not attend. General adult admission is $18. Ages 18 and under are $12.
- Hickory Apple Festival is making its great returns on October 7th and 8th. It is an all-day event that hosts all of your favorite live entertainment, unique crafters, homemade brick oven bread, delicious apple crisps, and more.
- Fall Flower Show: Hometown Harvest at the Phipps is paying tribute to a beautiful harvest season, the plants, and the animals that make it all possible.
- Pumpkinland Weekends at Janoski’s on October 7th where you and your family can celebrate the fall season you can take strolls through the pumpkin patch, scenic hayrides, corn mazes, haunted barn, pony rides, petting zoo, corn pit, and more.
- The Great Pumpkin Festival is October 7th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy pumpkin patches, bale climbs, giant pip slides, and more.
- Fall in love at the Pumpkin Festival at Cheeseman Farm. Pick out your favorite honey, apple butter, and of course a pumpkin! This festival will have plenty of family fun activities in store! You can go on hay rides, go to the petting zoo, and you can even hay jump! Stop down and have some fun.
- Trax Farm’s Fall Festival is October 7th starting at 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They have everything for everyone. Be able to have something to do for every age and make all the great memories with your family.
- AutumnFest at Seven Springs is this coming October 7th starting at 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. See the vibrant colors of the world with having some family fun.
- HallowBoo at Idlewild is a kid-friendly Halloween event that features Story Book Forest, costumed characters, themed rides, and attractions, a haunted train ride, kids mazes, and so much more. Come on down on October 7th for a fun night.
- Love flowers and apples? Pick-Your-Own Flowers and Pick-Your-Own Apples at Triple B Farms. Enjoy an early morning or afternoon in flower fields or those lovely apple groves. Pick through all different varieties of flowers and get a large container for only $25 dollars! Pick a variety of assortment of your favorite apples!
- October 8th at Schenley Plaza Kids Day from 12 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. See a balloon artist, craft activities, special guests and performers, and free rides of the PNC Carousel.
2. Fall Movies
Halloween movies are the best movies. Enjoy a chilly evening with your favorite cuddle blanket and go watch Movies in Fairview Park or Movies in the Moonlight at Moon Park Amphitheater. At Fairview Park, get to watch Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. Bring your chairs, bug spray, and all-time favorite snacks. Moon Park Amphitheatre is presenting The Mummy (1999). They ask for you to bring your chairs and blankets while relaxing on the hillside to gain a new way to enjoy a movie night.
3. Performing Arts
- Celebrate a Día de Muertos as a musical adventure for young audiences and families. Sugar Skull uses traditional music and dance from Mexico to tell the story of 12-year-old Vita Flores. Vita believes her family has gone absolutely loco for deciding to celebrate their deceased loved ones. She soon discovers the spirited candy skeletons coming to life which leads Vita to find herself within this magical, musical journey that reveals the true meaning of Día de Muertos! - Spider-Man, Spider-Man. Does whatever a spider can. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is here at Heinz Hall. This concert pairs a screening of the Academy Award®-winning animated film with live musicians and turntables featuring a DJ scratcher live on stage. Emmy® winner Daniel Pemberton composed a sprawling score of boundary-pushing original music that is complimented with song contributions by Post Malone, Lil Wayne, Jaden Smith, and Nicki Minaj.
4. 5k Zombie Run
Join the Sheriff Fun Run Zombie 5k this upcoming Sunday, October 8th starting at 11 a.m. Experience the thrills of being chased by all of those bloodthirsty zombies while having one goal in mind, staying alive and reaching that finish line. Walk, jog, or run to the finish line and avoid the zombies like the bubonic plague so they don’t collect your runner flag or eat your brains. You also have the opportunity to be a zombie and compete for the highest infection rate by stealing those runner flags and have a chance to win the “Zombie Cup”. The choice is all yours, you be a runner or a zombie? Do you have what it takes to survive the zombie apocalypse?
5. Brick Fest Live
