Grab a pen, your hiking boots and GPS device and get ready for an adventure!
Who
This is a great family activity. Don't forget if you are bringing little children, to prepare them for a day of outdoor fun. This means dress accordingly, pack snacks, a change of clothes, some wipes for dirty hands and some band aids for those adventure boo's.

You will need a smart device or handheld GPS to navigate. Visit https://www.geocaching.com/play to register for a free account and download geocaching app. Find a geocache near your location and get moving! In addition to your typical outdoor play date supplies, you may want to bring a pen to log any found geocaches and some small trinkets to leave behind.
Here are some general rules we have discovered in the geocache community.
Leave No Trace when you are searching, being aware of leaving surroundings as you found them. Be respectful of all property.
If you take something, leave something (hence the small trinkets).
Make your adventure a learning experience when you bring along small children. Use any opportunity to talk about the environment and findings along your hunt.
Follow all laws and regulations.
Like any outdoor activity, geocaching can be dangerous. Pay attention to your surroundings while you play.
